Photography as Art

"I was very fortunate to be part of that generation that came to Photography in the mid 60s at the exact moment of its ascension as the Hot New Kid of Media and Art. Thus ensued now 42 years that has been a most incredible adventure of the Spirit...

Times have changed and interest in the medium has declined to some extent, or better understood it has undergone a 'correction' to cite Wall Street terminology, now well established as a serious ART but no longer more important than any other...

And yet it has a power that no other Medium can claim, to capture a Moment in Time that has never been before and can never be again...

For Henri Cartier-Bresson it was the "Decisive Moment", for Walker Evans "That moment when the subject seems to reveal its secrets." For me it is a Moment of Recognition, something clicks that motivates the click of the shutter, something resonates on the 'Hard Drive' that is my Soul and I know I have captured a most insightful image of this precious yet complex experience called Life".
